Rimuru Tempest and Ranga standing together from the anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime or TenSura is a top-tier isekai anime. Our main character wakes up after death, reincarnated into another world with lots of superpowers but as a slime. That’s the fun premise of this anime. Then he explores the fantasy world, makes friends, and has epic adventures. It’s a feel-good fantasy anime with action, comedy, and heartwarming moments. Perfect for a fun and light-hearted watch! If you’re really into the isekai genre of anime and also want to see a beautiful story and cheer up, you should definitely watch this. As always, I’ve tried to make this watch guide as simple as possible so that beginners can easily understand how to watch and just dive right in. So, let’s get started!

Plot Summary

37-year-old Satoru Mikami is an ordinary office worker living a dull but stable life in Tokyo. His only regret is never finding a romantic partner. One day, during a casual encounter with a colleague, he suddenly becomes involved in an attack and is stabbed by a random assailant. As he is dying, he hears a mysterious voice in his mind reciting strange commands. These final moments lead to his extraordinary new life in a magical world, where he is reincarnated as a slime with remarkable abilities.

At first, he’s a weak creature, but he quickly discovers he can absorb and mimic the powers of other creatures. He meets a dragon named Veldora, who becomes his friend and gives him the name Rimuru Tempest.

As Rimuru Tempest, he grows in power and creates a safe haven for various magical creatures, including goblins, wolves, and ogres. He strives to build a place where everyone can live peacefully. His journey involves battling dangerous foes, forming alliances with powerful beings, and uncovering the secrets of his new world. Throughout it all, Rimuru’s leadership and kindness shine as he works to make his new world a better place for everyone.

The TenSura anime has finished two seasons, with the third season currently airing. Additionally, it includes five OVA episodes, four special episodes, and one spin-off season. In fall 2022, a new movie titled Scarlet Bond was released.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Fillers

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is an ongoing anime series that began in 2018. It has aired a total of 48 episodes across its two main seasons. With only 1 reported filler episode, the series has a very low filler percentage of 2%. Although it is filler, it would be unwise to skip it because it’s too good and it introduces an important character for Season 2. So, I highly recommend watching the filler episode.
